5 Nigerians Living In Cyprus Arrested For Drug Dealing

The North Cyprus security operatives have apprehended 5 Nigerians studying in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for drug related offences.


Following an intelligence report, the TRNC police raided the apartment building in the Famagusta area, where the Nigerians reside.

According to police  preliminary investigation, the suspects who are between the ages of 21 and 33 where is possession of illegal drugs suspected to be synthetic cannabinoid, a sensitive measuring scale; usually used by dealers to weigh drugs, 1,700 TL($500)  in cash which is assumed to be accumulated from sales of the illegal substance.

Already packaged drugs ready for dispatch, cigarette stuffed drugs was also recovered from the apartment. A total of 9 grams of prohibited substance were ceased and would be tendered in court as evidence against the suspects.

The suspects where arraigned before the Famagusta court on Wednesday 28, February and ordered to remain in detention as police continues with their investigation.
