Pastor Abiekunogho

A clergyman in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, identified as Pastor Abiekunogho, has been arraigned before Magistrate Spiff, of the Magistrate Court, Elimgbu, for obtaining by false pretence the sum of N20,000 and an SUV valued at N3.9 Million from a church member.

According to the victim, Sayou, he was invited to the church by an acquaintance on September 9, 2017 during a church program. While the service was going on, a guest preacher, Apostle Chris, gave a prophecy that he saw death hanging on Sayou's neck and that the victim had to sow dangerously to avert a possible tragedy.

The victim would have to part with the sum of N20,000 and his Sports Utility Vehicle,SUV valued at N3.9 Million, else he would die mysteriously.

The cleric convinced him to leave the items behind, after the service, promising him that in few months, he was going to miraculously receive everything back in over flow.

Speaking in court, the victim stated that, the Apostle thereafter gave him honey to drink, instructed him to go to a nearby shop to purchase a polyethylene bag, which he used to pack his personal belongings which was inside the SUV. He was immediately directed to sign an authorisation which transferred the ownership of the vehicle to the cleric.

He followed the instructions and went home, only to realise what he had done when he woke up the next morning.
He walked out to get something from his car, when he noticed the car wasn't there, when he asked his wife about the vehicle, she informed him he had sown it as a seed in church. Months after the prophecy, he received no miracle as promised by the apostle, rather, ''things became very difficult for me'', he said.

Soyou went to the pastor to request his vehicle be returned, but the clergyman refused, informing the victim that he had long sold the car for the sum of N1.5million.
The victim upon realising he had been fooled by the pastor, reported the case to the police, who subsequently arrested and arraigned the pastor.
