In a society where being single is seen as a problem that needs spiritual and physical attention, many women endures domestic violence in a bid to stay married.

Some single ladies would prefer to remain in an abusive relationship, to avoid being mocked by the society.

Domestic Abuse can come in any form, many women do not understand what it means to be abused, to them; only when a man physically strikes a woman, then she has been abused.

As a woman, learn to know when you are being abused.
If he hits you with his fist, legs or any apart of his body, you are being abused.

If he calls you awfully, unmentionable names, he is abusing you.
If he uses words on you that saddens you, makes you go into depression, that's emotional abuse.

If he holds you at home against your will, prohibits you from socialising, doesn't allow family members visit you, starves you; knowing you have no income; these are all forms of abuse.

Domestic abuse are much more and are not limited to what have been mentioned above.

Just like women, men are abused daily in the society, everyone seem to overlook the abuse men go through everyday in the hands of women; probably because they are perceived as the stronger being.

It's not uncommon to see men who suffer physical and emotional abuse from their wives/partners. In recent times, women subjecting their spouses to various forms of abuse has been on the rise...This topic will be discussed on a later date.

A particular story trending on line of a ''christian wife'' who took to social media to to narrate her ordeal in the hands of her husband has been taken with mixed reactions.

Some Internet users have blamed her for crying out about the abuse, being aware her husband is a public figure and the news will have a negative impact on his image.

A few others in support of the ''christian wife'' applauded her for her bravery, citing instances where many women have lost their lives as a result of domestic abuse.

It is sad to see that it's predominantly females who blame their counterpart for speaking out on domestic abuse.

In the case currently being debated on Facebook, women were quick to castigate the christian wife, some said she was not a good wife, how could she tarnish the image of her husband who has done so much for her, taken her on numerous vacations abroad, continuously showers her with expensive gifts and have established for her, chains of business.

Seeing how much her fellow women have reprimanded her, birth the question; Should a woman be silent about domestic abuse, because of her abuser's benevolence ?.
