Members of Iguomon community were yesterday at the palace of Oba Ewuare 11, of Benin Kingdom, crying and appealing to the Monarch to revoke the curse placed on the community.
The village has been under series of attack, there has been an outbreak of strange diseases and inhabitants are dieing ''mysteriously'', since the curse was issued, they lamented.
Iguomon village, Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Edo State, had flaunted the orders of the Benin Monarch, by continuing the activities of CDA.
Members of the disbanded Community Development Association, had disobeyed the great Oba, with their act, bringing untold hardship to the community.
The Oba of Benin had assigned members of his family to rule various communities and oversee the land sales and functioning of each community.
By continuing the CDA activities, members of the Community Development Association, CDA who claim to be working for the common good and development of their community is opposing the family member of the Oba of Benin , who they allege does not attract any community development, but enriches himself at the detriment of the members of the community.
Members of Iguomon community have been without electricity for several months, no accessible road and the only school building has long been dilapidated.
With no government intervention, the CDA had task themselves to collectively renovate the community primary school before the imposition of the Ohen, by the Oba of Benin Kingdom and disbandment of the CDA.
Spokesperson to Iguomon community, Mr Joseph Ighodaro appealed to the Omo N'Oba Ne Edo, to revoke the curse on the community by his ancestors
Adding that inhabitants of the village were ready to carry out all traditional rites to cleanse the land of the curses. He went further to mediate on behalf of Mr. Roland Okhuarobo, pleading with the Oba to declare the latter the rightful Odionwere of the village, vowing that he would desist from transgressing, to avoid a recurrence of their current situation.
