Two Students Alleged To Be Members Of The Cult Group; Buccaneer, Drowned During Boat Ride On Saturday


Two young men identified as Kelechi Elendu and Charles Benjamin Ngozichukwuka are said to have drowned on Sunday in Ebonyi State.


The deceased who are said to be students of the  department of Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology, Abia State University, ABSU, were on a boat ride, sailing, as part of the activities carried out by members of the secret cult group Buccaneer to mark the end of the semester and usher in new members into the group.

The final year students who lost their lives two days to their final exams, are alleged to be members of the Buccaneer confraternity.

Members of the group took to social media to mourn the dead and show solidarity with family members of the deceased.

In a similar development, three suspected members of the Eiye confraternity were paraded before news men, by the Ogun State police command, following the death of 12 persons in a cult clash between the group and the Aye confraternity.

Parading the suspects, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Zone II, Onikan, Dolapo Badmos, informed news men that the group were linked to numerous murders which has taken place in Seriki Village, Ogun State and environs.

The suspects, identified as, 20-year-old Moses Anthony, Samson Adagu 25 and Kabiru Ajao 28, stated before news men that members of the Black Axe group had murdered 12 of their members, and in retaliation they eliminated the leader of the group, Lanre Welder.

The group also alleged that they were being sponsored by a traditional ruler, who uses them to get rid of an form of opposition or rival cult group in the community.

During their arrest, three guns, machete and various charms were recovered from the home of one of the suspects.
