Tears, Pain, As The Bodies Of Two Sisters Murdered By Armed Robbers Are Laid To Rest

It is very sad for a parent to bury their child, the death brings trauma that doesn't go away. Burying two children? one can, but wonder the agony of their mother.

It was a tearful scene today at Amatutu Village, Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State when the bodies of 11-year-old Vivian Ifenyiwa and Venus Onyeyechukwu,7, was laid to rest.

The siblings were killed by a stray bullet during an armed robbery operation, while they were in their home town for the  2017 Christmas holiday.

The sisters who lives in Lagos with their parents, were at the village to celebrate Christmas with their grandmother, when the unfortunate incident occurred.

It should be recalled that  few months ago,  armed robbers targeted the Assemblies of God Church, Oguta road, Onitsha, Anambra State, on sighting the policemen attached to the church, opened fire, shooting sporadically, killing a police officer and a civilian.

From an eyewitness account, the robbers were said to have engaged the policemen at the premises in a fierce gun battle, the officers abandoned their patrol van and fled the scene.
Two members of the robbery gang moved the patrol van, retrieving the gun of the officer shot dead.

Another eyewitness recounts seeing one of the robbers alight from a motorcycle (Okada) to retrieve the rifle of the fallen officer, before shooting an Okada rider while trying to escape.
Among the policemen stationed at the church premises, only one was armed, and other officers sighting the ''one who has a gun'' laying on the floor, immediately fled the area.

Rest in peace, innocent souls!
