Two Libya Returnees From Edo State Test Positive To HIV

Nigeria government is working tirelessly to evacuate it's citizens stranded in Libya, several batches of returnees have been empowered and United with their families.


Not less than 1,000 persons have  benefited from the government safe return scheme, with the majority being Edo indigenes.

The returnees who are rehabilitated by the help of Edo State government are either camped  at a temporary  housing facility  provided by the government or welcomed into homes of family members.

Some returnees turn to popular clergyman, Prophet TB Joshua, who provides them with financial and spiritual assistance.

The returnees have no difficulty being integrated back into the society.

In an unfortunate twist, 2 of the returnees; one of them an expectant mother, tested positive to the Human immunodeficiency virus.

Both ladies are currently undergoing counselling and have been placed on antiretroviral drugs.

Efforts are being made to prevent a mother to child transmission of the HIV on the pregnant patient.
