70-Year-Old Francis Ezomo And His Two Sons Allegedly Defiles Little Girl In Edo State.

Francis Ezomo,70, alongside his two sons, Nosa Ezomo, 26 and 29-year-old Festus Ezomo has been  paraded before newsmen, for allegedly  abusing a minor in Edo State.

The 9-year-old victim, a relative to the wife of Mr Francis Ezomo, was said to be exhibiting a bizarre behaviour at school, which prompted the headmistress to question the victim, who subsequently narrated to her, what she has been going through in the hands of the suspects.

According to the acting Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Basic Education, Dr Joan Osa Oviawe, her agency  immediately swung into action, when the headmistress alerted them of a little girl who has been molested by her elderly guardian and his two sons.
The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development was thereafter notified.

Dr Joan went further to explain that, the issue was reported to the police in the jurisdiction where the crime was said to have occurred, but when it was noticed that necessary actions were not taken against the suspects, the state government took over the case, the suspects were immediately apprehended by the Police at the Government House, Benin City.

The Edo State Police commissioner,  Mr Johnson Kokumo, was thereafter invited to the Government house, where the Ezomo's were handed over to him.

Speaking further, The SUBEB boss, stated that the victim has been placed in a safe home by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, and her agency would ensure that the victim's education will not be affected by the unfortunate incident.

''What the men have done is bad and their actions have attempted to destroy the life and future of the minor. The three men took advantage of the child and exposed her to trauma. We have waded into the case to ensure justice prevails,'' she added.

Speaking on the issue, Mr Kokumo stated that his command would investigate the allegation against the Ezomo's and thereafter the culprits would be arraigned.

He added that the minor had been taken for medical examination, were it was confirmed that she has been abused.
