Edo Man, Stephen Uwa, Allegedly Murders His Lover; Mother Of 4, In Lagos


An Edo indigene residing in Lagos has been arrested by the Ilemba Hausa Division, Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly killing his lover after a 4-day marathon  s## and dumping her body at her residence in Oshja Arigba street, Zone five, Imude area of Lagos.

According to reports, the deceased, Joy Vincent, had visited her "man friend" on March 18, 2018 and was spending 4 days at his home when the incident occurred.

Narrating to the police, the eldest son of the deceased, Mst Christian, explained;  his younger brother, Ikechukwu,  was at school on Monday morning, when Mr Vincent sent for him to come home with the key to their apartment.

Upon arrival, he met the accused, in company of two other persons, who retrieved the house key from him and sent him to get his aunt who lived nearby.

On getting home with his aunt, Mr Vincent had already left, they walked into the room and found his mother, laying on the bed, covered, as if she was asleep.

They soon after realised she was dead, when they tried to wake her up but couldn't.

Corroborating the story, a neighbour of the deceased, who sells groceries in a makeshift shop , confirmed seeing Mr Vincent that morning, he asked after the children of the deceased, and was told they had all gone to school. He summoned one of the son, who is said to have brought him the house keys.

During arrest and subsequent interrogation by Police,  Mr Vincent admitted the deceased had spent 4 days at his home, he however denied killing her, saying that she was unconscious when he dropped her at home, but not dead.

When news men reached out to the Police authority, Chike Oti, spokesperson of the command, confirmed that the 60-year-old, suspect Stephen Uwa, was on Friday arrested alongside two women who assisted him to smuggle the deceased back to her apartment.

The remains of Joy Vincent has since been deposited at the morgue, while the family makes arrangement for a post-mortem to be conducted on the deceased.
