Shallow Graves Uncovered In Osun State Ritual Den



Inhabitants of Ilobu town, Osun State  were startled following the discovery of numerous shallow graves at a ritual den, in the community.


Operatives of the Osun State Police Command, led by the Police Commissioner, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye made the shocking discovery inside a house at Moleta area of the town.

In a press briefing, Adeoye informed news men that he and his team, working on an intelligence report, on Friday stormed the ritual den, where two persons believed to be siblings were arrested.

He added that the head of the group was currently on the run and his men are making all efforts to apprehend him. He promised that everyone associated with the den will be brought to book.

''We acted on a reliable tip off which led to the arrest of two brothers of same parents while their kingpin and leader is still at large'', he said.

''Of particular interest was the discovery of a dungeon with path, which connects one of the shrines to another. Several statues and hundreds of bottles of alcoholic drink were scattered around the shrine''.


The police boss, Adeoye,  requested for assistance from the general public, to reach out to the police with any useful information that would help them carry out their investigation and arrest of the fleeing kingpin.

He reiterated that the safety of any state or nation could not be left solely to security operatives, the police men cannot be everywhere at the same time, hence individuals have a part to play in assuring the security of the state.

Adding that all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality, the CP said they are relying on all leads they could get.

The elated residents commended the police for reliving them from a dangerous situation, saying they were aware that some sort of criminal activities was taking place in the compound but too afraid to speak out.
