Dr. Ola Jimade, medical doctor and the proprietor of Vital Care Hospital, Kubwa, Abuja has been declared wanted by the Police in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The suspect who allegedly heads a 5-man robbery gang is currently on the run and the FCT police has issued an arrest warrant against him and urging members of the public who can give useful information on the where about of the suspect to please contact the police.
Members of the gang arrested and paraded before news men in the FCT are' 30-year-old Sunday Okhomode, aka Sunny-Momoh, Meshak James, 23,28-year-old painter, Amusu Koku, a printer, Kunle Obajemi, 49, and a goldsmith, Suleiman Isa, 26. While the leader of the gang, Dr Solomon Ola Jimade is still at large.
The suspects while being paraded before news men on Tuesday in Abuja,held the photo of their alleged leader, as seen in the picture above. FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Bello, told news men that the arrest was a breakthrough in an investigation being carried out by the commands Special Anti-Robbery Squad of an armed robbery incident which took place in Maitama, November 2017.
Commissioner Bello stated that during the robbery, a BMW X6 Sports Utility Vehicle, Jewelries and properties worth millions of Naira where stolen by the gang.
He further stated that the command commenced a secrete investigation, which led to the arrest of the five suspects and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
The police chief told the press,since the investigation began, five vehicles,which the robbers already had their colours changed have been recovered and four have been identified by their respective owners who were robbed at gunpoint in various areas of Abuja.
One of the arrested gang members,Amusu Koku, narrated how he joined the gang, saying he was approached by the runaway medical doctor to repaint a BMW X6 in December 2017 and another vehicle January 2018, which he got N60,000 for his services.
Kunle Obajemi,who plays the role of disguising the stolen vehicles is said to be an expert in changing the chassis number on the dash board of cars. He confirmed to have been recruited by the said Dr Jimade in 2017.
“He asked me to print a sticker for him, but I didn’t know it was meant for a stolen car,’ said Obajinmi.
The goldsmith,Isa had bought the jewelry loot from Dr Jimade for the sum of N1.7m.
In a similar vein, the police told news men they have also succeeded in apprehending a 32-year-old Destiny Abang,an indigene of Boka East in Cross River State, for trying to steal a car in Area 8, Garki, Abuja.
The police boss stated that during his interrogation, Destiny confessed to have snatched several vehicles in Abuja,which he takes to Cross River State to sell at a give-away price.
A total of 13 vehicles is said to have been recovered from the suspect, comprising of a blue Mazda 323, a red Volkswagen Golf 3, an ash Mazda 323,a Toyota Highlander jeep,a blue Toyota Corolla car among others.
