Only In Nigeria! Monkey Steals N70m Belonging To Nigeria Senate
Animals keep eating, chewing, swallowing government funds in Nigeria. One would wonder, are these money-eating animals peculiar to Nigeria alone?
Last time it was a N 36m-swallowing-snake, now it's a N 70m-eating-monkey, only in Nigeria!
Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, was on Wednesday sacked as chairman of the Northern Senators Caucus, following allegations of misappropriation of N70m belonging to the group.
Presiding over the plenary session, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu announced a leadership change with Sen. Aliyu Wamakko as the new chairman.
Addressing reporters, Senator Sani stated that being that Sen. Abdullahi Adamu could not give any plausible explanation of the whereabouts of the money, there was a possibility, the funds may have been carted away by a monkey.
It should be recalled that a few weeks ago, Senator Sani made headlines, when he showed up at the JAMB office with cartons of pesticides and snake charmers to catch the Snake that made away with N 36m.
According to Senator Shehu Sani, who is not afraid to speak his mind, he was further quoted saying;
“Abdullahi Adamu is a distinguished senator and an elder statesman. There are some things that some of my colleagues cannot say but I am not used to holding back what is the truth.
“When we resumed as senators, Senator Ahmed Lawan tendered the sum of 70 million naira to the 8th senate that is, that 70 million naira was monies gathered by northern senators from the 7th senate.
“So it was handed over to the 8th senators from northern Nigeria under the 8th senate.
“The rumours going round, whether it is true I don’t know, but I believe most of the senators know that there were allegations that some monkeys raided the farm house of some of the executives in northern senators forum and carted away some of these monies.
“I think this country is becoming a huge joke, first of all it was the rodent that drove away the president and we now have snakes consuming about N36 million, and you now you have monkeys.”.
