Pastor Chidiebere Okoroafor of the Alter of Grace Ministries, Port Harcourt, Rivers State has been apprehended by the Rivers State security operatives for murder.
The Senior pastor carried out the heinous crime close to Izuom market, Oyigbo. The suspect is alleged to have killed two expectant mothers and an infant, in an attempt to cover up his unwholesome behaviour.
According to police investigation, it all began when the clergy man got into an amorous affair with a member of his church choir, Olumma Onwaagba. Pastor Okoroafor as a result of the relationship, set one of the victims, Olumma on the ''9 months journey''; fearing that his church would crash, Okoroafor persuaded the victim to terminate the pregnancy, which she vehemently refused.
Pastor Okoroafor, on December 10, 2017, lured Concila; a confidant of Olumma, who knew about the pregnancy, into an uncompleted building, before strangling her to death. After which, he took his mistress and her infant on a tricycle-keke napep, to an isolated area at Igberu, killing her and dumping her remains in a nearby bush.
When the suspect was interviewed by press men, he blamed his actions on the devil. “I don’t know what came over me. It was the handwork of the devil. I am just begging for forgiveness from the families,” he was quoted saying.
When asked to give details on how he murdered his mistress and her infant, he said; i grabbed the wrapper which she used to strap the baby to her back, suffocating her with it.
Until the untimely death of Concila and Olumma, both where expectant mothers, choristers and active members of Alter of Grace Ministries, Rivers State.
