Nigerian Woman Living Abroad Abandons Disabled Baby In Hospital,Flees Country

A disabled baby has been reported abandoned,now dead, by his Nigerian mother, at the Lefkosa Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, Northern Cyprus.
The unidentified single mother of 1, was said to have checked herself into the hospital in 2017,gave birth to a special needs child,Baby Jude. The single mother is said to have been in company of her 5-year-old daughter.

During her pregnancy, Jude's mother had been  diagnosed with cranial pathology anomalies. The pregnancy was eight months old when baby Jude was born.

She had told nursing officers that she was unmarried, that the man responsible for her pregnancy lives in Nigeria, that she was a student and had no possible means to support herself and her two children.

She was in the hospital for 6 months, with her new born and preschooler,until September 2017 when staffs at the ward where she was been catered for noticed she had not been in sight for some time.

All efforts to find Baby Jude's mother proved abortive, as it was later discovered she had provided fake information when she checked herself into the hospital.Baby Jude was left to his fate at the hospital as the hospital management continued to find any links to his biological parents or a foster home for him.


Fate however smiled on Baby Jude in December 2017, when a Turkish family took him up on adoption and gave him a home,after many months lying on the hospital bed.
Less than a month after his adoption, news broke out that Baby Jude was dead!

His adoptive parents who were said to live in a village of Vadili, an outskirt of Northern Cyprus, called the ambulance on a particular night,complaining their baby was choking and finding it difficult to breath.

According to his foster parents, baby Jude had dinner and went to bed, but trouble however started at about 12:30 am when he began to choke, an ambulance was called to their home, but the baby died before they could get to the hospital.

The police in North Cyprus thereafter issued a statement that they were investigating circumstances that led to the death of the infant.
Baby Jude who was born January 2017 died December 2017 lived his short but painful life without the love of a mother.
