Daytime Robbers Arrested In Owerri While Fleeing From Accident Scene

A group of armed robbery suspects, today met their Waterloo in Owerri, Imo State, while fleeing with a snatched vehicle.



The Imo State police command arrested two out of the three-man gang while attempting to escape after a robbery operation.

The robbers rushing off with a stolen vehicle, ran into an oncoming vehicle in the opposite direction. The heavy collision caused the vehicle conveying the robbers to be brought to an abrupt stop.

One of the group was able to get away from the scene of the accident, but luck ran out of the other two, who were apprehended by the police while escaping through a Secondary school.
Security operatives recovered an undisclosed amount of cash, in a nylon bag inside the robbers vehicle.

The robbers and their vehicle was later transported to the police headquarters by a combined team of mobile policemen and members of the department of State Security Services, DSS.
