Nigerian Woman Dies 2 Days After Returning From Libya

32-year-old Towabola Adebayo have been reported dead just two days after returning home from Libya. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announcing the death on Friday 17 February, explained that the  deceased,an indigene of Ogun State is one of those evacuated in the 5th batch of returnees and is said to have arrived the Port Harcourt International Airport aboard the Med View airline on Tuesday, February 13.



The deceased arrived looking very frail and emaciated and was  immediately taking by a waiting Ambulance upon arrival to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital where she was admitted.

As stated in her death certificate, Miss Towabola died on Wednesday, February 15 at bout 5.15 am.

Before her death, the returnee who was being treated for acute abdominal pains, excessive vomiting,anorexia, among other ailment, was said to have been resuscitated but had her glucose level fluctuating.

In a statement released by the NEMA  Head of Media and Public Relations,Mr. Sani Datti, arrangements are currently being made by the Agency to contact the deceased family, in an effort to convey her remains to her home town.

A total of 2,091 Libya returnees are said to have arrived Nigeria through the Port Harcourt International Airport since the government began the evacuation.
