There was pandemonium in the Obanla axis of Akure, Ondo state when a young man identified as Oluwole Aiyeloja publicly cut off his reproductive organ with a razor blade.
In An eye witness account, Aiyejola cut off his organ while a crowd of onlookers gazed in shock.
It is reported that Aiyeloja proceeded to cut off his scrotum but was stopped by an unidentified man from the crowd and taken to the police station.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph who later confirmed the incident on a press briefing said the Command had commenced investigation on the matter and preliminary investigation shows Aiyejola is suffering from a spiritual or psychological problem.
He went further to state that upon interogating Aiyejola, he claimed a monster had been instructing him to cut off his organ for donation, which he obeyed.
Joseph said the victim is currently in hospital and responding to treatment.
He would not be charged with any offence for inflicting life threatening injuries on himself.
