A woman was yesterday arrested in Edo state after a 12-year-old girl was found in the Oliha market area of Edo State
with injuries reportedly inflicted on her by her aunt.
The little girl who hails from Delta state is said to have lost her dad and was sent to live with her aunt who is suppose to be a guardian to her.

The girl narrated to a child protection officer attached to the NGO that she looks after her aunt's baby and the baby had mistakenly fallen off her back.
The aunt got angry and resulted to beating her up with a cutlass and wooden spoon(turning stick).
The NGO reportedly took her in and then reported the matter to the police which led to the arrest of her aunt.
It is sickening the rate at which child abuse is on the increase.
