Katsina State police command has arrested one Sule Abubakar for strangelling a day old baby and dumping her body in a pit latrine.
The incident which occured at Gyaza village, Kafur local government area of the state, was confirmed by the police PRO DSP Gambo Isah.
How the incident unfolded
A Woman, Fatima went to stay with the herbalist while having troubles in her matrimonial home.
Fatima had a misunderstanding withe her husband and was sent parking, she shad gone to seek refuge at the home of the herbalist temporary.
One thing led to another, Fatima and Sule began an enormous affair, while living with him and still married to her husband.
By the time the quarrel between Fatima and her husband was resolved, she was already pregnant for
the herbalist.
According to the police, after delivery, it is said that Fatima took the baby to the biological father
who allegedly strangled and dumped the lifeless body of the infant in the pit toilet.
The police was alerted , retrieved the bod of the dead baby and apprehended the herbalist.
In a similar vein, the Police public relations officer also said the police rescued alive a new born baby girl abandoned by her 16 years old mother, one Hassan Tanimu from Jabiri, in Funtua local government area.
According to the PRO, the police detectives who were acting on an intelligence report traced the baby to the teenager who claimed she was drugged and raped her and in the process got pregnant.
