Family Dog Eats Woman’s Passport, Visa and Tickets

A Nigerian woman, scheduled to travel from Lagos Nigeria, to Madrid, Spain has narrated how their family dog ate up her passport data page, visa page, and a Turkish airlines open ticket.

Narrating her ordeal to our correspondent, Ms Adesuwa lamented how she has made efforts to get a Europe visa. Her siblings, scattered across Italy, Spain and Germany have made several attempts to relocate her to Europe, but her visa applications were repeatedly denied.

She had recently returned from Libya to Nigeria where she spent two years in Tripoli, in an attempt to get to Europe by road.

She went further to narrate how the husband of her younger sister travelled down to Nigeria to process her visa which was issued on the 9th of December 2023. A 3-month Schengen visa.

Adesuwa was scheduled to fly alongside her brother-in law on the 6th of January 2024, via Istanbul, using Turkish Airlines Flight TK 232 to Spain.

On the 4th of January, she was about leaving Benin City, Edo State to Lagos, when she realized her passport which was supposed to be inside the luggage was beside the bed. The bio data page has been eaten. The page containing the visa has been eaten and the paper version of her ticket has also been eaten by their family dog.

Shocked by the situation, Adesuwa fell ill and was taken to the hospital where she spent 3 days. Her brother in law had to  travel back to Spain without her.

She stated that a new passport application has been filed at the Nigerian immigration, and when it’s gotten she may apply again for a visa.

As at the time Adesuwa reached out to our correspondent, she still hadn’t received a new passport. as the immigration officer informed her they were short of booklets.
