Old Couple Killed In Sleep By Their Son

A young boy in Umuokiri Nvosi community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State is said to have murdered his aged parents in their sleep and fled afterwards.



It was gathered that the teenager, who suffers from mental illness, during the weekend waited for his parents Jonah and Gold Amanze to fall asleep before perpetrating the crime.

The incident which happened on Saturday night threw the residents in shock on discovering the lifeless bodies of the couple who is aged between 70 and 80.

Residents of the community informed Vanguard that the victims were murdered using a machete.
They went further to reveal how the mentally unstable teen has been threatening members of the community.

They narrated how the teenager had inflicted machete wounds on a passerby  who almost bled to death in the previous week,

When journalist made contact with the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abia State Command, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, he stated that the authority has not been informed of the incident
