3 Nigerians Arrested In Cyprus, After Being Caught With Substances Suspected To Be Hard Drugs

Nigeria nationals, Abdulhamid Lokogoma Abdul, Kanu Odee Ojong and Fasial Ismail Aminu, have been arrested , charged to court and subsequently remanded in prison custody following an ongoing investigation on possesion of illegal drugs.


Prosecutor Serhan Bundak, who presented the case on behalf of the Attorney General, called the sworn witness, police office,r Mustafa Kavaz, who is the Directorate of Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate of PGM, who undertook the investigating officer.
On 1 November 2017, the witness informed the police that the suspect Abdulhamid Lokogoma Abdul residing at Bayram Apartment, Lefkosa , following a search warrant, had his apartment ransacked and  in a dark blue leather purse under his pillow were found substances believed to be hard drugs made into a  cigarette.
Mustafa Kavaz, also stated that Abdulhamid was found in the same apartment where the drugs was discovered, he defended himself by saying he only shared the room with Kanu and was not involved in the illegal business.
When the search was completed, a total of 3 grams of drugs where discovered.

The police witness, who gave court his testimony and voluntary statement that led to the arrest of  Ojong during the period in which the suspects were detained, said that the results from the laboratory has not been obtained and could change the course of the investigation, he then demanded additional time against the suspects.
Judge Gokhan Asafoğulları gave permission and ordered that the suspects remain in police detention for  more days.
