Nigerian socialite and internet sensation, Idris Olarewaju Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky has been confirmed to be a male.
This was brought to public attention by the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) , following his conviction for currency mutilation.
In the penultimate week, Bobrisky was sentenced by a Lagos court to a 6-month prison sentence with no option of fine.
As a routine procedure, officials of the NCoS are to hold inmates in a facility based on the conditions of their sentencing and gender.
Bobrisky identifies as a woman and is often addressed as “mummy of lagos”. It was unclear if Idris Okuneye, born as a man and transitioned into a woman would be detained in the male or female facility.
Bobrisky who boasts of using thousands of dollars in various cosmetic surgery has forward and rear feminine features. Even recently winning the best dressed female award in a recent movie premiere.
Nigerians have been clamoring for updates for the NCoS on what arm of their detention facility the internet sensation is being held.
The NCoS in the early hours of Monday, 15 April released a statement saying that İdris Okuneye is a male, having examined and confirmed the presence of a male reproductive system on the socialite.
Therefore as every other male, Bobrisky will be kept amongst other inmates in holding facility arranged for his gender.
Hours after the release of the NCoS official statement, pictures of Bobrisky’s wife and children surfaced online.

Apparently, Idris Okuneye is a male who had successfully created a Bobrisky brand for himself.
