Popular Edo entertainer, Mrs Esther Edokpayi Ebagua, otherwise known as Lady of Songs, alongside her husband, Destiny Ebagua, is alleged to be involved in transporting Edolites from Nigeria to Europe and the United Kingdom of Great Britain, under pretext of musical engagement.

According to a video broadcasted live by Germany based activist, Mr Edwin Idahosa, Mrs Esther Edokpayi and her husband recruits Edolites who pay huge sums of money to the couple in a bid to relocate abroad. These individuals are usually not musicians neither are they in any way connected to the entertainment industry.

Adding to the allegations, the wife of Mr Idahosa, Mrs Isoken Idahosa stated that only a renowned Edo musician, Mr Wilson Ehigiator, who goes by the stage name “Akobeghian” was the only artist who travels to diaspora with genuine intention of performing at events, often traveling alone.

It was alleged that Mr and Mrs Ebagua under pretext of traveling with musical band members, drop off these individuals in different oversea countries .

She went further to insinuate that the said couple were contesting the verdict of the Oba Of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare the second, who a few years ago prohibited Edolites from indulging in human trafficking, while laying a curse on whoever would from that day traffick Edo indigenes abroad.

Mr Edwin Idahosa is the older brother of Dennis Idahosa, a member of the House of Representatives and aspiring Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Mr Idahosa is credited for being in the forefront of the fight against human trafficking in Europe and extortion of money from Europe based Edo women, in a term called “Shentro”.
