After several weeks of conflicts within the Edo State, All Peoples Congress, APC chieftains and loyalists, it has been resolved that former Gubernatorial aspirant, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, would act as a running mate to the APC gubernatorial flag bearer, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

In a move that was applauded by supporters of Dennis Idahosa and party faithfuls, the need to resolve the dispute which was breaking the political party was of paramount concern.

An alliance between Senator Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa would strengthen the party against its major opposition, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

It should be recalled that the APC gubernatorial primaries was conducted twice, with the first election which saw Hon Dennis Idahosa’s  win as flag bearer, annulled and declared inconclusive.

A rerun of the primaries which led to the declaration of Sen Monday Okpebholo as winner and flag bearer of the APC gubernatorial race, was met with mixed reactions from party members.

Supporters of Hon Dennis Idahosa had took to social media in protest of Okpebholo’s win, with many supporters expressing their dismay over the attitudes of the APC working committee.

It was alleged that billions of Naira was taken as bribe by the working committee to rob Hon Dennis Idahosa of his mandate.

Hon Idahosa initiated a court action against the party and Monday Okpebholo in a bid to restore his win as APC, Edo State , gubernatorial flag bearer.

It was as this point the working committee had series of meetings to address the internal dispute and settle out of court, making Hon Dennis Idahosa a running mate to Sen Okpebholo, with a promise that Hon Idahosa would be the party’s flag bearer in subsequent elections.
