A 25-year-old Nigerian, Princess Okoye was last month arrested by Detectives of the Kenyan Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stationed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, while attempting to traffick Narcotics to Italy.
Princess Okoye was said to have concealed the 77 pellets of substances suspected to be drugs in milk containers to avoid detection while she ingested 15 pellets. She was however intercepted and placed on observation by law enforcement.
Princess Okoye is only one among numerous Nigerians who have been caught trafficking drugs since the beginning of the year.
In a similar vein, a 26-year-old Nigerian student in Cyprus was this arrested by law enforcement after being caught with 237 milligrams of the synthetic cannabinoid type drug wrapped in gambling paper and 66 milligrams wrapped in improvised cigarette paper.
The Cyprus police while briefing journalist revealed that the suspect was living illegally in the country as his student resident permit had expired since 2018. He was however sent to prison for a minimum of two months awaiting trial.
