Girl code rule number 2: Do not introduce your bestie to a male friend to strike up a relationship, when in your heart you’ve got feelings for that male friend.
Lots of girls break the “ girl code 2” and this time our favorite media personality, serial entrepreneur and socialite; Toke Makinwa has been found wanting!
This gist is very messy! Many toes has been stepped on.
A decade of friendship forgone over jealousy, emotional weakness and outright wickedness.
Toke who likes to be called “baby girl” is known to live a lavish lifestyle, flaunting various designs and colors of Hermes purses, which retails for a minimum of $10,000. The self acclaimed baby girl records are frequent expensive vacations on her social media accounts and a collection of her highly coveted possessions.
After her divorce from ex husband; Majid, Ms Makinwa has been linked to a few high profile figures in the Nigerian corridors of power. Despite making efforts to keep her dating life private, her gist always finds a way of getting out.
From 2020 until 2022, Ms Makinwa had a buzzling’ friendship with Nigerian artist and songwriter, Tiwa Savage. The duo were seen at several events together. Music sensation aka number 1 Nigerian bad girl and the somebody’s son go find me one day crooner, has some point referred to Toke Makinwa as her bestie.
They were always in each other’s IG post and could pass as the typical 5&6 kind of friends.
Well, not much people know why and how the once sizzling “sistership” turned sour. Since both parties were matured enough not to wash their dirty laundry in the public, most of their fans were not aware of their feud.
Fast forward to 2023, same girl code 2 which Toke Makinwa broke with Tiwa has been repeated with her current best friend; Sharon Ooja.
Toke Makinwa is friends with a young, rich and eligible bachelor; Farouk.
The two has been friends for a while, on platonic basis.
The very beautiful, single and intelligent Sharon Ooja who is a bestie to Toke, was introduced to Farouk.
Toke knows Farouk as a player and never expected he was going to take a relationship with Sharon seriously. She expected him to dump her after a few months, as he usually did with other girls that were introduced to him.
Unfortunately for Toke, Farouk fell head over heels in love with Sharon. And to crown it up, Farouk’s mom met Sharon, loved her and approved of her relationship with Farouk. These didn’t go well with Toke, and she began scheming for a breakup.
Toke would get phone recordings of Sharon, send to Farouk, in a bid to destroy the relationship.
At some point, Sharon and Farouk had a minor dispute, as a woman who couldn’t control her emotions, she went ranting to Toke and even revealed some dirty secrets of Farouk to Toke. She also alleged Farouk was a yahoo boy. All these were recorded by Toke and sent to Farouk.
Toke’s betrayal was however exposed, when she called Farouk from a hairdresser’s salon to tell on Sharon as usual, unknown to her someone who knew Sharon was there.
Getting wind of the situation, Sharon confronted Toke with evidence, but baby girl couldn’t defend herself, only went on instagram few hours later throwing shades.
In the case of Tiwa, it is alleged that after Toke told Tiwa’s lover of her they both visited herbalist in Ibadan and revealed the telecommunication boss servicing Tiwa, the relationship ended. And it is said that Tiwa truly loved the guy; it was the same guy they were in the intimate tape that went viral.
We can only hope Toke Makinwa sticks to her baby girl life style and stop breaking the girl code.
