Some Nigerian clergy has mastered the act of deception, they keep coming up with new ''formats'' to scam unsuspecting miracle seekers.

From holy water, to anointed candles, favoured ribena, miracle oil, breakthrough sand, the list goes on and on....All these, sold at outrageous prices.

These clergymen and women won't stop, as long as there are vulnerable members to fall for their deceit, they will always come up with new tactics which will yield the highest dividend.

In recent times, these clerics no longer accept that clients ''members'' seeking spiritual assistance come daily to their various prayer houses, from their home. They usually have a lodge, which is either within the church premises or a few metres away.

Miracle seekers are required to stay at the lodge before they are allowed to see the clergymen, and would usually stay  for a few days until the spiritual exercise is completed or the head of the church deem it fit that they be discharged.

Staying at these lodges usually come with a huge fee, depending on the church and how luxurious the apartment/room you are lodged.

Some would out rightly tell you the price which may range between N10,000- N70,000 - as charged by a popular church in Warri, Delta State. While others would pretend they are not after money, but would at some point ask you to pay for fuel to power the Generator, pay the cleaning lady. sow a seed towards the maintenance.... They all have their ways, but at the end of the day, you will have to pay.

There are also the clergymen who target clients living overseas. These ones have moved their ministry to Facebook. They spend hours daily on social media, posting videos of miracles purportedly performed by them, they post prayers points, prophesies, live stream their deliverance/miracle performing sessions; all these to lure ''offshore'' customers-members.

They carefully ''groom'' these offshore members to the point where they become their spiritual fathers/confidants, soon after money begin to change hands.

Some of these clergymen have airport pickup services that take members directly from the airport to the church lodge.
There are assistants who would assist/accompany these offshore members to exchange houses to convert their various international currencies to Naira, some of these pastors request US Dollars, Euros and Pounds sterling for their ''spiritual'' service.

It was not shocking when an STB reader sent us a message narrating how his sick brother was taken to a popular church in Warri and was sent back because he could not afford the amount required to be paid for accommodation.

STB reader narrated that his elder brother was seriously ill, taken to several hospitals in Benin and Delta State, he only got worse.

They decided to seek spiritual assistance , finding their way to a popular church in Warri whose founder has 3 letters of the vowel in his first and last name.
When they arrived at the church premises which encompasses acres of land, they were sent back for refusing to pay for accommodation, despite informing the ''officer'' on ground they live in Warri, were mobile and could find their way daily to the church.

Next visit to another clergy, after the usual prophesy; telling you the past, your present and future, the clergy asked the sick man his age. Our STB reader who happens to be the younger brother to the sick man responded, my brother is 43.

To their amazement, the pastor asked that he comes with N43,000 cash, when the amount is paid, he would perform a spiritual exercise that would restore his health.
Need i say the duo left there disappointed, vowed never to ''patronise'' false pastors/prophets ever.

So, when next  a cleric ask you to bring an amount according to your age, be wise.
